Join DTEX i3 for an exclusive online Insider Threat Advisory (iTA) Indicator Workshop for an in-depth review of a recent investigation where an insider, motivated by being passed over for a job promotion, conducted sabotage against their own organization. This case will challenge your assumptions about insider threats and highlight the potential for state-based adversaries to exploit similar vulnerabilities when their identity is discovered.
Key indicators we will discuss include:
- techniques used to detect this activity
- the devastating risk posed to the organization
- what was driving factors for this individual
Analyst note: The North Korean IT Worker (DPRK ITW) has been observed conducting various elements of sabotage when being terminated or prepping for termination or departure. Due to the same above legitimate access to the organization’s resources and systems, the DPRK ITW should be handled similarly, taking caution to avoid falling victim to sabotage.
